Georgia was 5th in the first College Football Playoff Committee rankings, which were released for week 11 of the College Football season. The new rankings are out tonight, and Georgia is still 5th after an impressive win over Mississippi State on the road last weekend.
What is the ceiling and what is the floor for this team relative to the playoff? What does last year’s playoff tell us about this year? Where do we want to be? Is 5th and just outside the SEC Championship game perhaps just the right spot?
It’s what Georgia has earned on the field, so it’s the right spot in that regard, but is it a good position to be in for the Dawgs? I think it is, actually.
I don’t really like the 12-team playoff. I was fine with 4 teams. Exclusive enough to keep the tension in every game of the regular season for contenders, but a little more forgiving and encompassing than the old “bowl n poll” system.
Today, while discussing this year’s playoff, I share what I would do if I had the magic wand to wave and fix all the problems.
Let’s talk it out in today’s The Daily Dawg…
Go Dawgs!
