The Daily Dawg Podcast - Episode 45 - Texas Breakdown-Predictions Part 1

Time to talk a little history and learn about Texas so we can pick a winner...

It’s time for the 8th All-Time Meeting between Texas and Georgia and the 3rd in just over a year. Welcome to the SEC, Texas, and welcome to Athens, GA, and Sanford Stadium. This will be the first time that Texas has ever played in Athens, and it’s a great match-up of 2 highly ranked, premier state schools that are both mentioned at the top of the list of best college towns in America.

Texas is a great program, maybe even slightly better than Georgia historically. Maybe not. But Texas has been the butt of many jokes over the last 10-15 years as they have tried to get “back” to the elite of the sport.

They last reached these heights in the 2009 season when they played in and lost the BCS National Championship game. But coach Sark has them back, losing in the playoffs the last 2 seasons, and that’s the first step toward actually winning a national championship, not losing it necessarily, but being able to make the game.

Can they overcome a shaky start to the season and be a playoff contender this year? First, they have to play the Dawgs between the Hedges!
