Saturday’s game down on the Plains was another game that will be remembered and talked about for years, but not all for good reasons.
SEC officiating is hurting the on-field brand. Games are getting bogged down in calls, and officiating crews are struggling to be the ones in charge. This game was the poster child for these growing problems.
Auburn started by opening up a can on Georgia. They gained 237 yards in the first two quarters and were on the verge of taking a 17-point lead to the half when crazy controversy sprang out of a goal-line play, and neither team was the same after…nor the game for that matter.
